Why would the Internet Archive organization be making a backup in Canada?

The Internet Archive is a non-profit organization that works to store data and info of the past and the present. It saves a page's information into their website and they implement the data into their website, and include it on their Wayback Machine. The Internet Archive are creating backups due to Donald Trump's new privacy laws, that almost everything in the Web could be turned private. But the Internet Archive believes that people should be free to see information from the web without any problems or laws blocking their rights for the freedom of information.
